Buying Your Underwear

Introduction :

For many men, buying the appropriate underwear can be disastrous. A few very basic tips to help you :

Step 1 : Know Your size

The first thing you need to know is your underwear size. Check the sizing information as your underwear is sized according to your waist size. Waist sizes are standard, but the fitting varies greatly depending on the brand and materials.

Some material might shrink, therefore it is best to buy one size larger than the sizing chart indicates. If you are between two sizes, the larger or smaller size you choose depends on the type of fit you prefer or how snugly you like your underwear. Try…then you know the size and fit that really works for you

Step 2 : Purpose

There are underwears that are made for specific purposes or uses. What is your purpose? Work? Workout? Outdoor activities? Comfort? Athletics? Casual? Bedroom excitement?

Step 3 : Design

There are many design choices of men’s underwear to choose from. But, which kind do you prefer? Your purpose usually determines the design you choose. Standard briefs for work. Boxer shorts for comfort at home. Jockstraps for workout at the gym. Sport briefs for athletics / outdoor activities. Novelty, pouch for bedroom excitement. Etc.

Try few designs. You may realize that you actually prefer different styles for different occasions.

Step 4 : Material

Men’s underwear is available in variety of materials such as cotton, nylon, silk, lycra, microfiber, spandex and etc. Find materials that are light. Choose the material that suits your body type best. Some are allergic to cotton, while others experience irritation and itchiness with nylon. Therefore, trying different materials will give you the best idea of what works for you.

However, choose cotton if you live in a warm climate. For colder conditions, wool blends and maybe even Lycra. Nevertheless, see that the underwear is close fitting, neither too loose nor too tight at the crotch and the waistband.

Step 5 : Price

There are cheap underwears. There are expensive underwears. The prices vary depending on the quality of materials used and the amount of fabrics needed for its manufacture.

Silk, polyester and nylon are considered to be of high quality. Mesh and sheer are cheaper ones. As for leading brands and designer wear underwears, the prices are usually expensive due to additional taxes.

Conclusion :

Even though your underwear is hidden, it is the probably the most important item of your clothing. Buy the best that you can afford. Select a brand, a fit and if comfort remains good, go with it. Most importantly, you enjoy wearing it!
